Hello!
I will be passing through Philadelphia on a long road trip with my husband and our two dogs. We are booking air bnbs / homeaways in all of our stops.

We booked a place in Philadelphia that seemed nice in the pictures but later I realized it may possibly be near sketchy parts of town, so I was wondering if I posted cross streets if you could all tell me how the area was. It's just for one night, so I'm not super worried, but I don't want the car getting broken into or anything like that.

It's between Walnut and Market and also 48th st and 42nd st.

Thanks, and I will feel super dumb if it's completely fine as I've lived in areas that also appear to be sketchy but were totally fine. I appreciate the help and I'm excited to see at least a couple things during my time there!

There's a lot of student housing in the area and not much else. The area looks rough around the edges and might not be the most appealing area to stay at, especially for first time visiting.

I do't know what your dates are, but I found 3 listings in better areas:

The area's not great - it gets "iffier" as you go west (higher street numbers). Wherever you end up, be sure to empty your car before leaving it overnight (a necessary inconvenience. I'm constantly shaking my head when I read about theft in our area - Mt Airy, Chestnut Hill - and the newspaper report itemizes stuff left in cars. Even residents don't seem to understand that anything, no matter how seemingly inconsequential, is fair game).

Thanks, I appreciate it! I'll use those to find something in that area that works for my dates.

I appreciate the validation, I really try not to judge places based on looks cuz I've lived in areas that look sketchy but are actually completely fine. I'll definitely empty out the car, I don't like leaving stuff in it anyway just in case.
