Agreed!

I have gone to enough large events here to know how our city would ‘prepare’ by doing nothing. I guess it’s cheaper to just go pick it up afterwards than to put out extra cans and have a mess anyway. I will cut them some slack this time, but I call 311 pretty much every 4th of July or made in America weekend to complain about the lack of trash cans present.

I’m ready for Kenney to be voted out on the sole basis that trash collection and the overall santation in the city has gotten WORSE under him when he PROMISED to make it better.

We can’t have someone who grew up littering be the mayor.
The similar post event litter stuff happened with Nutter. Didn't the first Made in America happen under Nutter? That ended up tearing up entire areas around the BF Pkwy.

No Dem will challenge Kenney in the next mayoral primary, imo.If Sam Katz, an imminently competent fellow, who switched parties to run for mayor as a Rep, who campaigned really well and still came up short(twice)against John Street, it will be hard for anyone.

Stuff that's ground into the dirt and grassy areas. How are they going to remove that stuff?

If we could get an inanimate carbon rod to run, I'd vote!

Does anyone on this sub-forum actually believe there was only 700,000 people who attended the Eagles parade?

No!

Way more than that.

Someone should check and see what the attendance was for the Phillies 2008 Parade.

No one really knows how many people attended the Phillies parade but because "2 million" sounds so awesome, no one in local government or media refuted it and it’s been repeated over and over again as (likely) truth. Having attended the Phillies parade and this one, I can say that it seemed much more crowded on Broad Street and on top of that, the route was considerably longer. So if 700,000 is the correct number for the Eagles, the Phillies must have only been around 500,000.
