How is the triangular area bordered by Ridge Ave, Broad St, and Girard Ave? I am possibly looking at an apartment on Ogden St... Seems to be a ton of new construction. Is it generally safe? Where would the closest grocery store be?
Also, just curious.. is this area technically considered Francisville or Fairmount?
Thanks in advance

That's Francisville. Gentrification is going at a fast clip there hence all of the construction. But it still has a ways to go.

The next neighborhood south and west is Spring Garden. Going further west is Fairmount.

The nearest grocery store to the location you cite is the Fresh Grocer in Progress Plaza on Broad St.

I've lived in Spring Garden for many years and have had no issues. I wouldn't have a problem living in Francisville but a newbie might. There are brand new rentals further south, at Broad and Callowhill, which you might want to check out too.

Btw, There's a sticky post at the beginning of this board with questions you should answer about moving to Philly.
