I have lived in Abington (Roslyn, specifically) for about 9 years. Previously, we lived in Philadelphia and didn't like the idea of sending our kdis to Philly schools. Abington is a wonderful area with a small-town feel. The schools are above-average. The District has consistently won the Blue Ribbon School District distinction. It provides a very diverse, family-friendly community in which to raise children. I believe we've also received some sort of award for being high on the list of "Best Places to Raise Children" or something to that effect.

If you are looking for more information, send me an email. We're actually moving out of state and have our house on the market in your price range. I believe a previous poster stated the homes were not at all cookie-cutter (totally true!) and offer a good amount of space for the price. Definitely worth the investment. I'm gonna miss the area. It provided a wonderful start academically and socially for our children!

Any short cuts from Phila CC to Abington Hospital. 611 business district is always filled with traffic, and was thinking about using 95N to Cottman and going W to 611 may be faster during the weekday. Advice?

take 76 west; get off on lincoln drive; make a right on johnson; make a right on germantown; make a left on wahington and follow it all the way to Jenkintown, then make a left on old york and follow that to wherever you gotta go. Thats much faster than taking broad/old york the whole way.

I live close to 95/Girard, so would 76 still be best, or 95? Thanks

76 is not without its own traffic issues. Depending on the direction and time of day, it could take longer than its worth. I haven't traveled Kelly Drive on a daily basis, but it may be worth taking to Lincoln Drive instead of 76.
