Yes, but did you vote ? I was #40 when I voted around 2:30pm today. Primaries are notorious for low voter turnout so that may have actually been a high number for so early in the day. We'll see

The fact that Barletta and Wagner won on the GOP side just shows how far state Republicans have bent over for Trumpism.

Also, according to an article yesterday, they were expecting turnout to be below 17% in Philadelphia. That is absolutely pitiful, even for a congressional primary election.

That is so upsetting. The same city that went nuts over two black men getting kicked out of Starbucks has no interest in voting/ representation. That is why so many loons remain in office in the city. I wonder if there will be a breakdown of where the 17% came from?

I am glad to see the state congressional results look promising for democrats, thank goodness for the redistricting, especially in the Philly burbs.

All of them got approved which you probably know about by now.

You may not know this for a variety of reasons. But a major reason why Bill Green didn't run for re-election in 1983 was he didn't want to deal with council again. He described it as the worse legislative branch in the free world. So, what happens in council is very much entrenched. Sigh...

In my neighborhood the increase in population and folks moving in, who are more politically engaged, has raised the number of primary voters. Used to be really bad/low years ago.

The issues with the current system aside. Why anyone in Pennsylvania would be an independent is beyond me. Independents in PA should just register in which ever party they vote for most frequently. They can still vote for whoever they want in the general election and then they at least have a say in who the nominee will be for one party.

Just based on what I saw at my own polling place in Newbold, it was all white, professional-looking people. Not exactly reflective of the diversity of the neighborhood.

Yes I voted. I voted at 8:00am and was 63rd. So my polling place is a good deal more busy than yours ha.

Not surprising. The only thing to do is vote for new people. Made sure not to vote for Clarke for the state committee lol.

I'm in spring garden, saw a good mix of folks at the polls. I went after work around 430'ish. I wonder if the rain held folks back. around 530 the storms moved through, right around the time folks get off from work (just postulating)
Anyhoo I vote at Ben Franklin HS on Broad and many folks like myself 50+ Black folk were there. I will say I had to pull the mom card on my sons to make them vote SMH, WTH!!

On the upside, though, it is incredibly easy and free to change your party registration in PA online. You just have to remember to do it by the deadline (like 6 weeks in advance). I always look at which primary I'd rather vote in and change my registration to that one. This time, it was GOP because I wanted to save Brian Fitzpatrick from his wingnut challenger from the right. I voted for Christiana and Mango, too, but I definitely wasn't as enthusiastic about those guys. I wish Rachel Reddick would have won on the Dem side, but alas...
