Currently, rain is expected to start in Charlotte on Saturday. It may be done Sunday night or Monday, possibly Tuesday.

Even if the airport is running flights, call to verify if you're going to get a rental car that the office will be open. If you plan to take a bus to uptown, call CATS & verify that the bus will be running. It doesn't matter if the airport is open if you can't get anywhere.

If he's coming from NY, he'll probably take a train.

I will most likely fly into Charlotte and get a rental car. I'll have a better idea Sunday what the situation down there is like.

When the high speed train opens to Charlotte that might be a possibility but not during a hurricane. Train tracks can flood or be littered with flotsam that's drifted onto the track.

Right now there's concern of streets flooding & trees falling. It's been a wet summer, just like in Philadelphia.

I assumed that you ran across mention of high speed rail from DC to Charlotte & thought that it is in effect. Plus you might have run into the Amtrak train, the Carolinian, which comes to 30th St station. So I gave you a serious answer.

I wasn’t being facetious, when he said he was going down there I thought he meant Philly and already said I misunderstood. Not a big deal.
