Looking at an apartment near intersection of 4th and Fairmount ave. Is this area safe for a 20-something female living by herself? I have not lived in the city before but I have visited a TON of times and recently started attending grad school at Temple. I feel like I have decent street smarts. (I probably wouldn't be walking around at midnight either).
Also, would it be reasonable to find street parking in this area, or within a block or two? I probably wouldn't absolutely need a car but I would like to have mine for various reasons if its not too much of a hassle.

I have a few friends who live like 1 and 3 blocks away from there.

Parking is hard in that area. So, I wouldn't have a car unless you have a garage or a spot with your place.
It's certainly an area I would live in personally, and I also feel comfortable enough to walk around at night even. You can always take a Lyft to get around at night rather than walk though.
