I call it the philly tap. WHen you hit the car as you are packing. It flows out like tap water and happens. OFTEN.

Agree on both points. As far as dents and scratches I worry far more in parking lots then street parking. Too many of those with larger SUV's that don't seem to be able to pull in straight or between the lines.

What worked for me was to learn how to angle which, yes, obviously, took some time to learn. And figuring out, from sight, what spot to choose. I drove past ones I could see were too small.

In my neighborhood, taking too much time inching back and forth, would, inevitably, get you stuck with someone blaring a horn behind you.

I've personally gotten to the point that even if I angle the car wrong, I can usually do it in a way where I leave enough room for others to pass by without taking too much time for others to beep, then I can try to get out and re-adjust again. Thank you.
