Can anyone tell me what is generally included in the rent for elevator/doorman apartments? Heat, hot water, cable, internet? What would an “all in” number be for rent and typical amenities in a 1 bedroom in Center City?

Doorman?? Totally depends. Look at Padmapper, Trulia, Craigslist to get an idea.

There are many apartments in CC with full time doormen, including:
The Rittenhouse
The Ayer
10 Rittenhouse
Residences at the Rittenhouse (Rentals)
Residences at Ritz-Carlton (Rentals)
Symphony House
The Philadelphian (BFPwy)

My guess would be $2200-$3200 in most cases for a high-rise doorman building.

Is a doorman different than a person at the front desk, because a doorman would be standing by the entrance?

I can imagine the frustration of when one asks a specific question and others come up with all sorts of answers that have nothing to do with what the OP asked.

Cpomp offered, but since OP provided no specifics to back up the question, the sky's the limit and if you had limitless resources why on earth would you come here for advice.

Actually, if you ask, it generally means you are good with your money. Ie, you dont **** it away. Btw, if I make the move, I will be selling a 1.5 million dollar house in the Bay Area that I own outright. Thinking of downsizing, along with other considerations.

Thanks to those who provided useful information.

If you are planning on buying there is a much wider disparity for condo prices. A doorman building (which is generally nicer) I would peg at $300k - $700k in most scenarios.
