Not getting much traction in the hockey forum, so I thought I would try here....

Any Flyers fans here? Who is your favorite player(s)? What did you think of the season opener?

Giroux and Ghost are my two favorites, personally.

I live in Texas, but managed to fly up from Texas for 5 of their Carnival events. Pretty cool to get to meet so many players and get things signed. This Nov will be the 2nd year I will have not been able to go. I miss going. It is a lot of fun.

Their home opener starts tonight. Hope they do a great job this season!

The season opener was great. I'm not going to get too excited over one game, but they seem to be going in the right direction. They need better goaltending before they will be a real championship contender. Hopefully, Hart will be ready in a year or two.

I've always liked Couturier because he plays in both ends. Even back when everyone was bitching that he didn't score enough, he was fun to watch because he could totally shut out the best players in the league.

I thought tonight's game was 2 hours earlier. I see that it is later. Looking forward to seeing it, though.

Yes, I realize it is not worth getting too excited over 1 game. But it was a great game.

Its also not their home opener. That will be Tuesday night against the Sharks.

Ah, my mistake. Someone on facebook told me it was the home opener. I wondered, due to the later start time. Thanks.

Simmonds is my favorite followed by Giroux.

The future of this team hinges on finding competent goaltending that is lasting. Let's hope they find that in Hart.

Yes, goaltending is consistently their problem.

Oy Vey. I took the Red Arrow trolley to both parades in the 70's. The Flyers as a franchise have lost their way it seems. I never thought Claude was a leader. Great player, during the regular season, then disappears in the playoffs. I don't have much hope for them, nor the Sillies.
