Hi, I'm fairly new to this forum and been reading a lot to figure out my living plans for the next little while. A quick summary: I'm a 20s female and will be working in Levittown for 5-6 months later this summer. I'll have a car and am okay with some commute (< 20-25 minutes ideally each way). My upper limit on rent is around $1250. Since I'm not there for too long, I'm okay to spend a bit more and be able to focus on my work/life without too much stress about other things. Don't have too many requirements other than it should be a relatively safe neighborhood and not too far from Levittown.

When are you moving? Summer 2019
Where are you coming from? Canada
Why are you moving? Work
Where will you be working? Levittown
Have you been here yet? No

Will you buy or rent? Rent
If renting, are you looking for an apartment, a townhouse or loft? How much can you spend? Prefer living alone - apartment, townhouse or loft is fine. Budget around $1250/month.
Do you prefer hi-rise or walk up? Doesn't matter.

Do you have a preference of living in a NJ or PA suburb? As close to Levittown as possible.
Are you married or single? Do you have children? Single, no children.
Do you prefer public or private schools? Doesn't matter.
Do you have pets? No
Do you want or need a yard? No
Are you keeping a car? Yes
Do you prefer bustling activity or calm and quiet? Doesn't matter too much, calm and quiet would be ideal

What do you want to be closest to? Work

Do you want to live with people of a similar age, race, religion or sexual preference or do you prefer a diverse neighborhood? As long as it's considered a safe neighborhood, does not matter.

Favorite Beverage - Craft Beer, wine, water? Wine

Levittown is made up of Middletown, Bristol, and Falls Townships. In general, I would recommend staying away from the Bristol Township part of the area, which is not the greatest. Everything else is typical suburban living. You should be able to find a good 1-2 bedroom apartment at that budget.

I can't really speak to the specifics of different sections of Levittown, but I don't think Levittown in general is "dangerous" unless you're into doing dangerous things. Lower Bucks is ground zero in the opioid epidemic, but if you're not a junkie or a dealer yourself, then the worst thing you probably would have to be concerned about is petty theft and crimes of opportunity that you can protect against just by being vigilant.

As a general rule, depending on how far from Levittown you want to go, Bucks County is nicer north of the Rte 1 "superhighway" than it is south of it.

I grew up in Levittown, there are definitely very trashy and shady parts of it, lol. But yeah, for the most part, the further north you go the nicer it is.

There was double shooting the other night in a Bristol playground over a dice game. So they have that going on there now.

Thanks for the help! Based on your suggestions, I'm looking at a few places this week mostly around this intersection: Briston Oxford Valley Road and Woodbourne Road. Let me know if you see any concerns about living in this area for a female.

Appreciate all the input!

I don't think I would have any particular safety concerns about that area. It's also very convenient to Oxford Valley Mall and all of the other shopping/dining places on Bus Rte 1.
