They will soon find something from William Penn's past sufficiently racist to have him removed from his perch.

I think someone needs to do some digging on the Philly Phanatic too. He just seems racist af to me.

He's from the Galapagos. Someone call ICE and build a wall around that place.

Does anyone know who or what actually started this debacle? I can't seem to find the origin.

Wasn't it that Asa Khalif ''activist''? He has of pics of himself standing at the covered Kate Smith Statue before it was removed.

Good call; let's get rid of the William Penn Statue! Penn has to be a racist cuz he lived in the past, especially given his colonial ties, and he was a white Englishman.

Or, maybe a current day coven of witches will be offended by Penn's statue given that he lived during the 1692 Salem Witch Trials or make some kind of nebulous connection between the two.

My neighbor's great great aunt worked for William Penn and said that one time when he was giving her a hug on the holidays, she felt really threatened and that he "kinda" violated her space.

Don't get me started on that guy.

Whoa I just check his Twitter with the picture of him standing in front of her covered statue, his rhetoric is very scary and the comments are even more disturbing.

What makes him and his following any different than the KKK?

I am scared for the far right and far left, both are getting into dangerous extremes. And to think he wanted to run for council at large, that is so scary for Philadelphia.

I still want to know who made this issue go viral, he added to the fire, but doesn't seem like he started it.

It started with the Yankees. The Flyers reacted to the Yankees decision to stop playing her song, so that's where I would look for the origin of it.

That was the supposed story, but then Kahlif claimed he has been complaining about the statue for a long time prior to this. I tend to believe the activist looking for some hush money. It follows in the tradition of Sharpton and Jackson.
