Does anyone know what's going in around the block of 12th and Chestnut? Across from the Target/Petco, etc? It looks like it's going to be demolished as there's a gate up now.

It is going to be demolished. One of the last remaining storefronts in that building was a Philadelphia Gas Works customer service office, and it closed at the end of June. Here’s an Inquirer story about the demolition and planned redevelopment of the property.
