This is great advice. As someone who bar-hops occasionally (not as much as I used to compared to when I was a single college student last year), I could easily have a fun night in each of those areas. I'd also recommend Baltimore Avenue in West Philly and Fairmount Avenue in Francisville/Fairmount, but each of their bar scenes are a tad more subdued than the aforementioned.

Temple's campus--especially at Draught Horse and Maxi's--is also great spot for bar-hopping, assuming you don't mind being among students.
