Could someone tell me about Pheonixville? Cost of homes, type of town, safe, convenience, stores, and more?

Phoenixville was a depressed former steel town, now its the next up and coming hot spot in the burbs.

You can get older single homes and new townhomes for sub $300K, new single home construction in developments I would say $300K plus.

It has a walkable downtown and business district but its still in development vs fully established and successful.

Phoenixville seems to be gaining popularity with the folks who work for the Pharmaceutical companies in the Collegeville area, especially transfers.

Personally for the money that area is getting, I would move to Conshohocken for the vibe or Wayne/Paoli/Berwyn/Malvern/Downingtown/Chester Springs/King of Prussia for the better schools and amenities already in place.

I hate Phoenixville. It has Section 8 housing and a major drug problem.
