I would stick with Media, PA. Easy commute to Wilmington down 95. It has a vibrant core of restaurants, bars, cafes, entertainment and has public transit into Center City Philadelphia for convenience. I think this is the best balance. You also have an H Mart in Upper Darby a short drive away. (15 mins)

West Chester would be my second recommendation. Although I do not find West Chester diverse in any sense, but it is very vibrant and has lots of character. But I think you will find it more isolated coming from Brookline.

Trolley Square would be my third. While trolley square is certainly cute, it is not in any way 'robust'. There are about 3 decent and trendy restaurants/bars and the whole city of Wilmington shuts down at 12:45 AM.

It is funny because people from Pennsylvania think Delaware has really great liquor laws because they sell it in more places. But last call is 12:45 AM. I attribute this to Wilmington being a complete sleepy small city. It has not active nightlife or culture and is a snoozefest. I have lived in similar size cities (Lancaster and Harrisburg) and Wilmington was by far the most boring place given its size I have ever lived.

I know because I lived in Trolley Square for quite a while. (not by choice)

You lived in Trolley Square for a while. Although that's a nice safe space for certain people, there's the rest of the town, which has as many bars as either other city. Just probably not your shade of melanin the way things sound.

If you're considering nightlife in smaller regional nodes, West Chester takes the cake.

If you consider Latino culture and nightlife, Reading knocks it out of the park.
