Toobusy will probably deleted this thread since it's not about Philadelphia specifically but I think I spotted our very own MarketEl(Sandy Smith) in the NBC10 video in S. Phila about the KC super bowl win. Of course Andy Reid will always be part of NFL and Eagles history.

It is awesome Big Charlie's Saloon did that go. Go Andy Reid! Happy for all the Chiefs fans.

One time when I was younger, my family and the Reid's took the same flight to Disney World from PHL and I was able to meet them all. They were so nice. It was gut wrenching the year his son passed away at training camp up at Leigh. The Eagles never went back after that and have since had closed practice training camps in South Philly.

Most eagles fans would not have cheered for andy if they didnt win in 2018. They would have been like..."No way I am rooting for him to win and couldnt get us one" lol

Very happy for my hometown. Thought about heading to Big Charlies but decided to watch it at home with some fellow KC folks.

You did. (I note that I was the one person not identified with a name tag that reporter Drew Smith spoke with. I don't know whether that was because I'm a fellow reporter and knew the interviewer or not.)

I couldn't have imagined any other place I wanted to be on Super Bowl Sunday. Big Charlie's is legendary now.

I was one of only a very few people there not wearing Chiefs gear, but I did have a red shirt on under my blue T-shirt. I opened my jacket to show what the T-shirt read to another fan there, and he responded, "You win." (It read, "I lived in Kansas City BEFORE it was cool.")

I didn't go the distance, however - I left at halftime for another bar in the Gayborhood where I knew my favorite bartender would be holding forth at the main bar during the game (he usually works the roof deck bar on Fridays). I needed to warm up my hands. You couldn't get into the bar unless you had bought a wristband in advance, and all the wristbands had sold out by game day.

An NPR reporter Monday morning summed up how the Chiefs play beautifully: "No lead is safe from the Chiefs." First team in NFL history to erase double-digit deficits and win in three postseason games.

I also saw the shots of people celebrating at Kansas City Live! in the Power & Light District downtown. The city may have gotten fleeced on building that thing, but scenes like that help me understand why the city wanted to get it built.

BTW, if any of the rest of you want to see the clip, it's available on the NBC10 Philadelphia web site in the sports section:

Chiefs Fans in South Philly Celebrate Super Bowl Win | NBC10 Philadelphia

Edited to add: I met seven other Kansas Citians while there, two of them visitors on a business trip. One of them was the guy I interviewed for a 435 Magazine article on the bar; he had gotten a job at a pharma firm in suburban Wilmington and bought a house two blocks away from Big Charlie's specifically so he could be near the bar.
