We're looking at purchasing a home near the Upsal train station in Mt. Airy which means that I'd have to take my toddler with me on regional rail for a 30-minute train ride to daycare.

Have any of you commuted with a toddler (two years old) via Regional Rail? Any advice? Horrible idea?

Thanks so much for your input!

Are you taking a stroller? They can be a pain to finagle, especially on a crowded train. Other than that, our kids usually had fun riding the trains. We didn't take them on daily commutes, however. Bring snacks and entertainment, you never know when a delay will happen and you're trapped there for a while. Oh, and don't use the quiet car, lol.

If you are going on a rush hour train finding space for a stroller may be very difficult. By the time the CHW train gets to upsal there are few, if any, seats available. It would be unlikely that you will consistently find two seats next to each other.

I think folks would move so that you have a seat with your toddler.

I have though not on that line. it was fine since nobody wants the middle seat but it's just fine for a small person (toddler). occasionally I had to stand but people will give up a seat for a toddler.

thank you all for the comments! I think I'll try it out one time before we commit to purchasing something to see how it goes.
