Hey guys so heres the thing. Ive noticed that on forums like this Queen village isn't hyped up as much anymore. Like when hot neighborhoods or "good neighborhoods" of Philly are mentioned Queen village isnt mentioned alot anymore. So my question is what is the current state of Queen village. Is it still a good neighborhood? Is a hot Philly neighborhood? I was just wondering.

IMO Queen Village is one of the best neighborhoods in Philadelphia. I think a lot of times lists of 'hot neighborhoods' focuses on up and coming places. QV has already made it. Cry Baby Pasta and Fiore Fine Foods are two of my favorite restaurants I have been to recently.

Queen Village is home of one of the hottest school catchments, Meredith. So it's very much still a great, in-demand area with some really quaint homes, and that's not likely to change anytime soon.

Queen Village is an established neighborhood and one reason why it does not get as much discussion. It is a Beautiful historic neighborhood and one of the original colonial neighborhoods of Philadelphia.

Yeah QV is arguably Philadelphia's best non-center city neighborhood. There is no signs of that changing anytime soon especially with Meredith (despite the recent trouble there).

Disagree about crybaby pasta though

I never thought about it in those terms but I think I might have to agree.

Without a doubt IMO. I think QV has had that mantle for a over a decade now.

What didn't you like about it? I only went there once and did drink a lot of wine but I thought the pasta was good. I think I had the bolognese. I can't be the only one that think's its good lol. Laban gave it 3 out of 4 bells which is pretty high praise from him.

In any case, there are good places to eat around there.

I'd also go as far to say the transition from Center City to Queen Village is so seamless that it never really feels like one has left Center City. I agree Meredith will keep the Neighborhood solid for years to come.

Everything everyone has said is correct. QV is a great neighborhood. It has been established as a great neighborhood for quite some time now, whereas the focus on here a lot of the time is on neighborhoods that are changing (mostly ones that are improving), so it's often not a hot topic of discussion here since it's not really changing much. Meredith in QV is one of the top elementary schools in the Philly public school system, so I think it's more family oriented for that reason compared to NoLibs or Fishtown that are more geared towards younger/no kids households.

I ate at Emmy Squared pizza yesterday. It was excellent.
