We will be moving to Queen Village soon and are interested in a security system (centrally monitored) for the house. Any you’d recommend to go with or steer clear of?

Agreed. Get something with low monthly monitoring charges.

We've had ADT at our house in Point Breeze for over 4 years, and have had no complaints. A lot will depend on the size of your house and the specific features you want, so your experience may vary.

We pay probably around $50 a month for monitoring, but we also have fire and carbon monoxide monitoring in addition to the standard security package. As pet owners, it's worth it for the peace of mind if a fire or gas leak breaks out when we're not home.

I would suggest to find a local one here, you may get a better price but will definitely get better service. Shopping around is always good. Compare service, prices and if their system can be used by others (some have proprietorial codes that if you switch to another you pay a large amount to get new equipment)
