How the heck do you have a society that hold people accountable under the law, and the courts are closed for months, and months -- and months. And you let people out of jail who should still be there.

Among other things, I suppose that this virus "situation/challenge" :
-- is another reminder of what's "truly important" like one's health and loved ones.
-- has edified some people about how jobs they might have shamed some people about are more "essential" than their own
-- put some illumination on rules and regs that people try to say are so needed, but-- what-do-you-know....when it comes down to it are "theater" enacted to make people feel safe or feel good -- but are not even needed...evidenced by the fact that they've been changed or waived for three months and counting.
Yeah, the courts! I am involved, indirectly, with a civil case that needs legal attention now. Not months from now. But I know there is a ton of back log which will go on for ages.

Consider it's not just criminal cases but civil ones and family court.

^^ I hear you about the court case. How can you just close courts for half a year!?

That's the kind of decision that makes people want to just take the law into their own hands.

I'm sure there are all kinds of psychological and sociological studies that will be done about this time.

Consider yourself lucky you don't live in San Francisco where the lockdown will go on indefinitely. How their restaurant scene can actually recover is beyond me. We may be able to recover some if, again, we do not mess up this yellow phase. If Delaware, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester go green first you get back much of Ardmore, Media, KoP( kinda)....rest of Main Line.

And, ugh, if we can avoid protesting morphing into rioting as it has elsewhere.

Maybe the same for us after all the stuff going on tonight

Count on it! A lot of doctoral dissertations will likely come out of it all.

After allowing and continuing to allow large to massive protests and riots in the city since Saturday, we better be yellow on 6/5 and green by 6/19 if not sooner.

There's no way the city/state can continue the covid-19 lockdown.

Now medical experts are stating that anyone participating in or near demonstrations needs to be covid-19 tested.

As of yesterday, I read there were no plans to change the red to yellow shift for Friday.

It appears the suburban counties are indeed still moving toward yellow. The city is a question mark, but it becomes difficult for the city remain behind if the rest of the state is yellow.

At this point, I say move the whole state into a yellow phase. Its actually not all that different, especially since the city isn't too keen on outdoor dining.

But as others mentioned, it will be telling to see if there is a spike in Covid cases and hospitalizations over the next 2-4 week. If there is not, then we are in good shape, if there is, then we are in trouble.

Chunks of the state are green, btw.

TBH, after this whole thing since Saturday, the whole state should be green.

Naw, we gotta see the fallout from these protests first. Imagine if several hundred people unknowingly caught COVID at say the huge protest on Monday. If we unleash them and their families (assuming many in their families caught it from them) beyond their own households, we could completely destroy our city in a matter of months.
