-BSL/Spur Closed Stations: Tasker-Morris, Lombard-South, Spring Garden, Fairmount, Susquehanna-Dauphin, Wyoming, Logan, and Chinatown

-Trolley Closed Stations: 13th Street, 19th Street, 33rd Street, and 36th Street

-Closed Regional Rail Lines: Chestnut Hill East, Chestnut Hill West, Cynwyd, Manayunk/Norristown, West Trenton, and Wilmington Newark

It should have been shut down earlier. The CHE line runs behind my house and for weeks it was running on a robust schedule. Only now have they realized that they should really dial it back accordingly. Sad that it took a few SEPTA worker's their lives.

They didn't get rid of all service. They dialed it way back to a Lifeline schedule. That probably has impacted people, but there is still service.

SEPTA.org | COVID-19 Information

My comment was referencing how SEPTA was giving rides to anyone who wanted one. Anyone could have boarded and rode the CHE line for weeks during this crisis, as I could see trains going by on a robust schedule.

Looked like you were saying septa service should have been shutdown altogether which would be a disaster

No, just poorly worded on my part.

Shut down public transit - we shouldn't repeat the same mistakes NYC did. The virus can survive for days on metal and plastic surfaces, and no, I don't trust SEPTA's cleanliness.

I understand it is a burden on residents, but so is every other aspect of social distancing.

Maybe I'm being naive, but "life sustaining businesses" should pay for employees taxis/ubers to/from work during this if they don't own a car. I'm not saying that the government should mandate it, but it would be reasonable gesture for having somebody jeopardizing their health.

Actually, fewer than 60 bus and trolley routes are running.

Of the trolley routes (still including Route 15), two - 34 and 102 - have been suspended, 102 before this latest round of cuts. The other six are still running.

Only 47 bus routes remain in service. They are:

In the city: 3, 6, 7, 14, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 40, 42, 46, 47, 52, 55, 56, 58, 60, 64, 65, 66, 68, 70, 75, 84, G, J, K, L, R, LUCY

In the 'burbs: 93, 96, 97, 104, 108, 109, 113, 114, 117, 124, 129, 132

That's 53 bus and trolley routes total. The Norristown High-Speed Line is now classed as part of the rapid transit network.

I'm actually very fortunate: all three of the bus routes that stop at Chew and Chelten remain in service.

And I'm surprised too that the 34 isn't running. The 33, a little less so.

The cost of providing that service is even more than that of running SEPTA service, and frankly, I'd trust SEPTA to keep up with cleaning more than I would an Uber driver.
