Is there any source for Philly (online or otherwise) that indicates actual rents paid for apts/condos. Just curious if there is an analog to a sale where the actual sale price is listed either in the Inquirer or city hall for you to compare as you prepare your bid. Anything similar for the rental market ?

About the closest that you may get to that is apartmentratings.com, if you don't want to dig. Usually when users post reviews they also have to indicate the rent they pay, although I can't remember if the average rent reported for the complex or property of interest is separated by type of apartment (studio, 1br, 2br, etc.).

But looking there should give you a rough idea. Someone else may have a better resource suggestion for you, but at least that site is a place to start. When I was in the market for another place I found the reported rents to be pretty accurate for the reviewed properties.
