My wife and I are moving to the Collingswood, NJ area very soon. She has been offered a job in the Bala Cynwyd area. I have looked at the septa/patco maps is there an easy way for her to take a train to that station? If not what kind of commute time can she expect? Thanks

The R6 Cynwyd line has very limited service, so I'm not sure how well that would work. There are probably SEPTA buses between Center City and Bala Cynwyd, though I'm not sure how close the particular bus route stops to 8th/Market, 12th-13th/Locust, or 15th-16th/Locust.

It wouldn't be that bad of a car commute. Just take 676 to 76 then get off at montgomery dr exit and find your way to belmont ave. I'd estimate around 30min most days.

Your wife could take the PATCO High Speed Line from Collingswood to Center City but she would have to walk a couple blocks to reach a SEPTA Regional Rail train. Perhaps the easiest connection would be at 8th and Market. She would have to walk across the underground overpass then through the Gallery Mall to the Market East Station at 11th and Market. The R6 runs at peak hours http://www.septa.org/service/sched/pdfs/R6Cynwyd.pdf so as long as she plans on working 9-5, she should be okay.

Only 30 mins? That is fine I thought it might be 60-75. I hate to put her on the train because she would have to walk several blocks to make a connection and then to her destination. Thanks for all replys.

Yea - mornings will def be doable in 30min. You won't hit any traffic on the highways - just a long queue exiting Montgomery Dr. Afternoons can be a bit more dicey. A good shortcut to use is to take Montgomery Dr to a right on West River Dr (MLK) which will take you right onto 676 if you stay in the right lane.
