It was disappointing but not surprising that the Philadelphia Inquirer ran a story, "Poll: Afghan war broadly unpopular" today referencing a poll conducted beginning a week prior to yesterday and ending this past Monday about Afghanistan that drew the conclusion that two-thirds of the American people think the Afghanistan war was "not" worth fighting. Why would the people that control this newspaper run an outdated poll, they should have run a poll conducted yesterday which would factor in all the scenes that shake one to his or her core, scenes like people so desperate to escape Taliban authority that they would climb on the wings of moving transport jets to escape the country or of Taliban foot soldier "thugs" beating people that just want to get to take their family to the airport so they utilize their legal visas to get out of the country. The newspaper's string pullers don't want that focused on because that might reveal that the majority of Americans believe the Afghanistan war was worth it because it improved for many Afghan women their "lot in life", they can get educated, work and leave their house without an adult male escort and because it saved millions of both Afghan men and women from being subject to a medieval like Islamic fundamentalist extremely oppressive society. The newspaper's string pullers don't want that focused on because that might reveal that the majority of Americans actually think that the General David Petraeus and Senator Ben Sasso leadership was right on the Afghanistan matter that America should have kept three thousand five hundred troops in Afghanistan which would have stabilized the country and denied control of it to the Taliban who will provide bases for radical Islamic extremists groups that will attack America and its allies and stabilized the country sparing millions of Afghans from having to live under hellish Taliban rule if they allow you to live! The newspaper's string pullers don't want that focused on because that might reveal that the majority of Americans would be open to the U.S. military permanently securing the city of Kabul and saving it's four million residents from having to live under the onerous Taliban rule and America using its air power to help the anti-Taliban militia leaders in a few parts of the country carve out clusters of districts that are free from Taliban control so at least to spare a few millions of Afghans from a hellish existence under the Taliban!

The Inquirer running this article just highlights how the newspaper has become one that does the bidding of the wealthy which would like the Democrat's spending spree to go forward or the Trump's supporters and enablers "no tax hike" policy to go forward these people don't care about the avoidance of human (Afghans) suffering if it will cost them significant money! The "powers that be" at the Inquirer are not only character depraved people but they betray the legacy and greatness of the wonderful man the late Gerry Lenfest who bought the Inquirer and donated it to the public through a non-profit for the benefit of the entire community and the common good. What needs to happen here is that the board seats that runs the non-profit that controls the newspapers Inquirer and Daily News need to be apportioned one-third to those selected by the employees of the Inquirer and Daily News, one-third selected by the head of non-profit organizations that serve people directly (like a major food bank and major social service organizations - selections need to be permanent) and one third selected by the head of major business advocacy organizations (like the Chamber of Commerce for Philadelphia - again selections need to be permanent). This is the only way to get the Inquirer and Daily News consistently working for the benefit of all people and the common good!

The war in Afghanistan was horrible and everyone that supported it should be fired into an active volcano.

Not to dive into the political nature of your post, but to address the title of the thread: it is ran by the super rich, particularly Josh Koppelman

We all have our triggers, who knew disagreeing with a pole was one of them?

Didn't read your whole diatribe but I haven't seen one person (except David Petraeus) in favor of our military being there permanently. I don't know what the Inquirer has to do with it because...well, I didn't feel like reading the whole diatribe.
