I'm finding locations to move to in the next few months, and my girlfriend thought PA would be a good state. She likes city life, and I found out rent is cheap as dirt I just need a few tips if someone doesn't mind helping me out.

First, where in PA is a good place to move? I'm looking for a good neighborhood where my gf and I might fit in. I am white, California-raised, and my girlfriend is Japanese, very Japanese! Also an area where the rent is still pretty affordable. I'm looking for a nice sized studio, or hopefully a decent sized 1bedroom, and don't want to pay more than 900/mo.

Also, I promise to do my own research on this, but if anyone knows off-hand that would be great.. basically looking for a community college (so my gf can come here on an F-1 visa, I am not a citizen so I can not have her apply for the K-1 visa) a college that offers international student F-1 visa as well as a course in cosmetology.

All your help is appreciated, and thank you in advance!

Definitely Philly, anywhere in Center City or University City, by Univ of Penn and Drexel, or Manayunk...that's where the young people are...crime around University City can be a drag...car break ins, occasional muggings, but that's part of life in the big city...you just have to ask yourself if that's what you're willing to put up with.
