OK, how many New Yorkers live here in Bucks County? Do you like it, hate it, visit NY frequently? Just wondering. Nice area, and I'm thinking of commuting to NYC (I am a musician).

Thanks!,
GMG

I don't know any figures but Bucks County is definitely becoming an increasingly popular destination for families and laid-back individuals who commute to NYC. Some that still want to maintain an urban lifestyle even choose to live down in Center City and commute from 30th Street Station. Sadly, a lot of us may have realized the impact that NYC had on our metro when Bucks County residents became victims on September 11th.

I can tell there are a alot of New Yorkers in Bucks, specifically Newtown, by the way they ride my gluteus maximus when I'm riding down the street. No offense, but it's ingrained in them, it's a much faster paced lifestyle up north.

HAHA LOVE THE butt comment! SO SO true...new yorkers hmmmmmmmm. unsure of my opinion today, usually am not impressed....they move here thinking its the country....hahahaha not so anymore! Been here all my life and never had so many rude and obnoxious people around me.....one reason I will never move to Newtown...TOO congested too. But the NYers, they have to learn we are not cow farmers with hay hanging out of our mouths. Even those who are left here to really farm....they have brains and deserve respect. Not the peeps who purchase huge properties and make them McMansions. Get real. NYer's gotta let that notion go of being superior to anyone too. All thats happened here is over priced properties housing inconsiderate shoppers, drivers, homeowners and pencil-pushing cubicle robots.

Well, I'm sorry you are not impressed. All kinds of people can be rude, even when they move into a new area, or not, or are bad drivers. I was not aware that NYers thought of PAers as cow farmers..maybe I am misinformed. Anyway, what I am really looking for is someone who made the move from NY to here in Bucks county and their opinion on the area and such.

Default New Yorkers in Bucks County

I am a NY'er now living in Newtown. Moved from Manhattan with my family. I commute to NYC 3 times per week. This is a terrific, family-friendly area, and is in some respects becoming a bedroom community for NYC commuters. There are a significant number of NYC commuters who live in Newtown and nearby Yardley. Feel free to send me a direct (private) message and I can give you my impressions of the area in more detail.

I'm glad you moved to Bucks County and are enjoying it and continued success but I have to take exception to your comment that Bucks County is becoming a bedroom community of NYC. That simply is not the case. There may be a sprinkling of New Yorkers to Bucks but it is a very very small percentage, like 1%.

Bucks County is a Philadelphia area anchor, in no way, shape, or form is it or will it be associated with NYC.More people from New Castle DE. moved to Bucks County than moved from NYC.
