Any recommendations for a suburban place -- maybe a diner or restaurant -- that does good Thanksgiving Day dinners to go.

(Not necessarily on Thanksgiving. But even to order and pick up before hand.)

Turkey and all the great sides: stuffing, gravy, rolls, greens, string beans cabbage, sweet potatoes, corn, potato salad, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, etc.

Thanks

Thanks lots of options.

Unfortunately, I'm only one person. So I'm really only looking for some Turkey Legs/Wings and a plate for one.

I'm spoiled. My mom and then SIL used to cook a big spread and the family got together. But mom passed years ago and since then there's been a family dust up.

I'm not one to invite myself over to someone's house -- even friends -- if they don't make the offer. And I'm not going to just find someone who I don't know who is "doing takeout dinners." I'm sure we know, you can't just eat anyone's food!

In years past I've just gone to Boston Market and called it a day. Turkey and various sides. Not a real TD spread. But that's the closest thing I've found to what I'm looking for.

Maybe I'll cook my own turkey legs/wings. But I'm not doing a big spread for just me.

Plus....I've been wondering for years should I even buy into the holiday as big some big special food fest. If I don't eat that way any other time of the year. Why that day...which turns into a week You know.....commemorate Thanksgiving without the food focus and gluttony.

Anyway...thanks for the article. It's a keeper.

Plus it's not too late for me to get an invite!

Considering you're one person, I was going to suggest Boston Market but it appears you want something better. When I was a single guy years ago and was alone for Thanksgiving, I would make a Cornish game hen - super easy, smaller portion, and still looks fancy since it's a whole bird.
