Can anyone recommend a good route to take from Montgomeryville (around the intersection of 309 and welsh rd) to Harleysville during rush hours.

It seems like the most direct routes are Sumneytown Pike or Welsh Road. Is one better than the other during rush hours? Any particular trouble spots?

Thx

There is no really good route during rush hours. The most direct route is Welsh road (Rt 63) thru Lansdale to Forty Foot Road , left on Forty Foot Rd to Sumneytown Pike at Kulpsville. Right on Sumneytown Pike to Harleysville.

i grew up in Harleysville and am very familiar with that entire area. First of all I would not take Welsh Rd to 40 Foot, because Welsh goes right through downtown Lansdale and it always takes quite awhile to get through there, no matter what time of day.

Consider shooting south 202 from Montgomeryville and turn right onto Sumneytown Pike (becomes Rt 63 once you get to Kulpsville) at the William Penn Inn. It is a straight shot to Harleysville. It does go directly through North Wales and Kulpsville, but Kulpsville right near the entry to the Blue Rte is probably your only sticking point (I'd guess not as bad as going through Lansdale). Once you get past that its smooth sailing and there aren't terribly many stoplights on the whole route.
