Hi

Can anyone provide suggestions for taking public transportation from Philadelphia to NYC. I usually take a bus by Apex bus, but they will not leave until 8am and I need to be in NYC by 9am so they won't do. I believe I can use Septa from 30th Street, but I am not sure what to do from there. Anyone out there that has made this trip have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The earliest Bolt bus arrives in NYC at 9:30. You can check low cost inter city travel, but I have had trouble getting onto their website. If not, you can take Greyhound. Buy tickets online for a discount.

New Century - the other Chinatown bus line has busses that leave at 6:30 am - maybe even earlier.

However, if I have to be in NYC for an early morning meeting, I usually take the 7:00 am Amtrak that arrives around 8:30. It is just a little safer to know you will get there on time. Book three days in advance and you can get a AAA 10% discount from the web. It will cost around $60. Not the cheapest, but when time matters....
