To Readers:

I would like to know if Philly is a good place to move to for a 25 year old from Long Island in the real estate profession. Looking to move to the city but not NYC because it is too expensive. Any suggestions about Philly- How does it rate compared to Boston DC NYC or say MD. It seems Philly gets a bad rap- but from what I've seen and read its seems like it has some +'s. any info. would help. Is there opportunity there?

Philly compared to Boston, DC, and NYC:
- cheaper real estate
- cheaper cost of living (groceries, going out to bars)
- transit isn't as good (but still good compared to the rest of the country)
- most people live in rowhouses
- people are generally less pretentious
- people are generally not as classy
- more segregated and less immigrants than New York
- shorter commutes

To be honest New York City would be your best bet as a real-Estate agent for commercial property or otherwise. There are opportunity up there that would be unbelievable and everyone is looking to buy or sell properties , if you’re in real-Estate law, a real-Estate consulting, or a real-Estate analyses the paramount place would be the Philadelphia region. On The down side Philadelphia has crime like New York also a corrupted city government.
Great night life if your single. Very unpleasant place for a family.
Good luck!!!
