I am starting a job located on 2220 Richmond Street, Philadelphia, around where the entrance for 95 North is located. I drove for the interview from Union, nj and it took me 1 hr 20 minutes. With the high gas prices I would like to be commuting by train, but I don't know whether there is any connecting train or trolley from the main stop in Philadelphia to Richmond Street.

Any help will be appreciated.

Linden seems to be an area similar to this part of Philadelphia, ever consider just moving here? It's got to be cheaper than living in NJ.

But if you must take a train, there's the PATCO line to NJ from 8th & Market but then you'd have to take the local train from there to Richmond St. Doesn't take that long really.

Thanks for the reply. I will probably move in the near future, and I have checked some threads which have advised on which areas to look for apartments, but for right now I just want to save on the gas due to the long daily commute.

I just opened this website http://www.ridepatco.org/pdf/Patco_timetable.pdf and I have no idea where I am going or where the train from NJ stops at. The only location I have is 2220 Richmond Ave Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia is big and there may be names of different sections of the town that a newby like me is not familiar with....

Sorry but apparently that PATCO schedule goes to Lindenwold in south Jersey, not central NJ where you're coming from. You may have to catch one of the trains that comes from NY or you can do NJ Transit but I believe it's quite time consuming from where you're coming from as I think you'd have to go through Newark to get to Phila.
Btw is that Richmond St? That's near where I am in what's called the lower northeast area of the city.

Your address on Richmond St (at Girard) is not within walking distance of either the elevated train from Center City or the regonal rail system. It could be reached from either by bus but would be totally impracical since you would already be making two train trips (New Jersey to Center City and then Center City to Northeast Philly) to get to the bus.

Thanks guys.. I will browse the Philadelphia threads for good places to get an one bedroom apartment. My range would be about $1000 including utilities.

For that you can find somthing nice anywhere but a hi-end Center City hi-rise. Don't forget to check nearby New Jersey.......Cherry Hill, Maple Shade, Cinnaminson etc. and Bensalem area in lower Bucks County, PA Try apartmentguide.com

Sorry I missed this, your work location is just a block or two from the Route 15 trolley. Unforunately the trolley only connects with the subway/el and not with regional rail so it's not that easy to get there from the suburbs. Basically, if you were coming in from the 'burbs you'd have to transfer twice.
