The one thing that might be hard to get used to is the Sports section of the paper. I mean, it's only natural that the home team would be the focus of any local newspaper but during football season, it seems to be All Eagles, All the time! It doesn't bother me (my husband is one of those suburban pansies, sans mcmansion, that used to sit in the 700 section and is still a season ticket holder at the Linc) but if you are used to seeing NY sports teams, it's going to take awhile to get used to.

Try finding any non-Redskins stories in the Post once the season starts up. Occasionally other teams sneak in, but usually because they're about to play DC.

The thing that kills me is in the fall, I can't walk into a Dunkin Donuts without fighting my way through 77 pieces of Eagles flair on the door! It was never like that in the NY area.....with any team. It seems to be just a little more "amped up" here.

FWIW, relatively late editions of the New York Times, New York Daily News, and New York Post are available at just about all stores/news stands in the Philadelphia area. That may not be saying much considering those papers are seemingly available anywhere within 500 miles of NYC (and in the case of the Times available anywhere period), but I can tell you the DC/Baltimore area and Harrisburg area, both of which are about twice as far from NYC as Philly is, get earlier editions of all of those papers.

Im a boston fan and have never had problems wearing celtics, red sox or pats stuff in or around philly. I went to a 3 sixers vs celtics games last year and had no problems at the first two, but the stands were probably half full. I went to a playoff game (right after garnett made comments about 6er ans being fair weather fans) and all these "die hard" fans that werent there until they got into the playoffs were obnoxious and yelling at my wife for wearing a green shirt. We were in the first row of the upper bowl, so maybe we were in the younger/more rowdy section, but as i said before, we were there 2 other times and had plenty of open seats around us in the same section..

Overall,i we have had no issues around here. Definitely more mild than if you went to boston between 2003-2007 in a yankees hat.. Im from boston and i am still bothered by how stupid it was up there around then. Yankees suck rallies starting up after a concert were just ridiculous to me and i was 21 at the time!
