1.) Does anyone know if there is an opening act?
2.) Does anyone know if there are places to eat near the Wachovia Center (Baja Fresh, Subway or Panera)?
Thanks in advance
Robin

1. No idea.

2. Oregon Ave, which runs east and west across South Philly a few blocks north of the center, has dozens of places to eat, both local and chains, fast food to fine dining. (the resturants tend to cluster at the west end near 23rd St or east end near2nd st. Wachovia is at Broad or 14th st) I don't know of anything south of Oregon except maybe the Holiday Inn.
Allow plenty of extra time it is a congested, heavy traffic area.

There are no restaurants within walking distance of the stadiums. To my knowledge you won't find any Panera or Baja Fresh chains in Philly and there are only a handful of Subways and none in South Philly, AFAIK. Too many good sandwich shops.

If you're looking for a chain, the city equivalent to Panera would be Cosi and rather than Baja Fresh we have Qdoba. There are a few locations for both, you can google it to see which one might work best for you. Or, you can just come into town on Route 70. There's a Baja Fresh and a Panera right next to each other where 70 crosses Haddonfield Rd.

But I would head up to Passyunk Ave. If you're looking for tex/mex there's Adobe Cafe and for slightly more authentic mexican there's Cantina Los Caballitos If you just want a sandwich there's Benna's 2, Roselena's, and Black & Brew. At 9th & Federal, right next to Geno's Steaks, there's O Sandwiches.

All of this stuff is in a 6 block stretch starting about a mile north of the stadium.
