I have heard that there are elementary schools in Philadelphia that need books for their libraries. Perhaps someone on this forum would know of some of the schools that are known to lack services. Even our fairly well off public library will accept donations of gently used books to put into our collection or sell in our book sale room, so I would think this would be doubly true of poor public elementary school libraries.

The Free Library used book store behind the Main Library on 20th St. No reference books or text books and call for an appointment before coming.

reeceville elementary in the coatesville school district has a used book sale every year which the entire revenue go towards purchasing school equipment. I am sure if you contact the pta, they would be very happy to accept the books.
