I am 23 weeks pregnant and relocated to the area last week.
I'd like to find a OB-GYN practice/doctor that delivers at Paoli Hospital.
I appreciatte any inputs and experiences from moms and dads
(Send me a private message for personal advice).
Thank you! Ana

Depending on your age/risk profile, you may want to consider Bryn Mawr Hospital as it has an Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I culled some stuff from other threads to get you going.

Congratulations and Good Luck!

"I had Dr. Alexander Anthopolous for the past 9 years and he is just amazing! He has the combination of personality, compasion and skill. I hate doctors that rush and he always took his time and explained things very clearly. I had both my children with him one at Bryn Mawr and one at Paoli.

I have to say that I liked Paoli's experience better. I had the baby in my room unlike Bryn Mawr which made me feel like I was going in for a proceedure. The nurses at Paoli seemed nicer to me. Could be just my experience at that time others could tell otherwise. But I had the best experiences having my 2 boys with him." - mirancs8

"Dr. Ravy Lu at Main Line Women's Healthcare is a great doctor and her practice has several doctors that are also great, Dr. Leone & there is another female dr at the practice that was also great. I can't remember the other lady's name. I would also recommend Bryn Mawr over Paoli. I love both hospitals, however, should it be necessary Bryn Mawr has a NICU in their hospital whereas Paoli does not. I had my baby at bryn Mawr & did not need the the NICU but I wanted to have that option as she was my first child and I just did not know what to expect." - pennylove76

"the radnor place could be Main Line Women's Health. They have offices in the Radnor House which is just down Rt. 30 from Villanova U. That office # is 610-525-3225. I know that practice delivers at Bryn Mawr and Paoli - not sure about UPenn, so maybe it's not the same group." - thesixth

"Penn Health for Women
Penn Medicine at Radnor
250 King of Prussia Road
Radnor, PA 19087
(610) 902-2500

Here is the Radnor info. This IS where I went...I just called and checked, lol! I don't know if Dr Chen is still there, but I really liked everyone. I would make an appt with anyone of them and then if you felt you needed someone else, then ask to see a different Dr the next time you went. There are a lot of Dr's there, but some only do GYN (like I saw Rosen for GYN, but she didn't do OB at the time)"-twinmma

I went to Bryn Mawr to deliver my daughter and had an absolutely awful experience. You know it is bad when the President of the Hospital comes in to see how you are doing and gives you free parking and meal tickets. I will never deliver there again! It is unfortunate because I loved my OB, Dr. Dein, but if you happen to go into labor on a weekend you may get a doctor from a completely different practice. That is what happened to me. I was never informed that a doctor from another practice could deliver my child and the many people who go to the same practice and have had kids with them, did not know this either. Dr. Kai Wu delivered my daughter and did not come in to see me till I was having problems even though there were only 3 other laboring mothers when she arrived. My husband thought she was going to drop my daughter once she delivered. Anyway, that is just some of the issue I had. I decided for my next I would deliver at Paoli. They have a new maternity ward and I know a few people who delivered there and had great experiences. Good luck with your decision!

IM - I am sorry about your experience at Bryn Mawr. But, since the OP was back in January of 2009, I am sure the decision was already made. Again, I never understand bringing up threads that are over two years old.
