Does anyone have any experience as an MBA student in philly. I have been looking at schools in the area and every website says that their school is the best but I want to hear from real people who have attended.

So far I have been considering Temple, Drexel, and West Chester.

I am most interested in value, applicable knowledge, and experience / connections provided.

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, for name recognition:
Penn
Temple
Villanova
Drexel
St. Joe's

Search - Business - Best Graduate Schools - Education - US News and World Report

I went to St. Joe's program and it was ok, I thinks its AACSB accredited now, which means it is much better. I had coworkers go to Villanova's and they required a laptop, which for an IS degree, is a good thing (people in my St. Joe's class used Word docs printed on overheads - I had to push to use Powerpoint...it was quite disheartening coming from IT/IS folks...).

West Chester is a "teachers college" IMO, not an MBA school. I took a few classes at Widener too, they were not nearly as good as St. Joe's.

Penn is the best, followed by Temple.

Followed at a very, very great distance by Temple.

Based on the OP's list, Wharton isn't a consideration, so I'd put Temple and Villanova at the top of the rest. I didn't realize West Chester even had a business school.

West Chester is NOT Philadelphia..... My guess is if the OP is thinking of West Chester, Temple and Drexel, he/she does not have the money and/or stats for Penn or Villanova.

A good college only bulletin board and website to visit might be: Business School - MBA - College Discussion

No competition, the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania is the best. It's known and respected around the world.
