Acme is closed too? I know there was an old acme, but they had built a new one...it couldn't be more than 5 years old...it closed?! (The only other store then would be Geunardes, however you spell it, and I always thought the new acme gave it a run for its money. Wow...how things change!
The reason Goodnoe's closed, per the previous owner is because they had difficulty competing with the chains that have been popping up in the area, Applebees, etc... Newtown has changed a bit, some people would say it's lost a little of it's charm with all the home building and traffic conjestion. It's still a great place to live though, but until NJ gets it's act together people with continue to travel over the bridge to live.

For all you Goodnoes fans, they are back. The children of the owner have opened an ice cream only place on Sycamore Street. Right between the Stockberger Chrysler Dealer (that has since closed) and the Luk oil station. They currently have master 12 of the old flavors and are promising more!!

Oh, and the new acme is still open. You should definately check out the Newtown Farmers Market open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Temperance house on State Street has redone their bar/lounge area since the enactment of the smoking ban so you should check that out too. Several of the area restaurants are now hosting Wii tournaments on various nights.

Question:
I'm looking to move to Newtown, PA. Any ideas where to rent a place in the area? Looking for a 1 bedroom. Want to rent before I take the plunge and buy. Newtown looks very pretty but the rental doesn't have to be right in town if there's nothing to rent in Newtown. Could be a town nearby but I don't know the are well enough to know where to search.
