My husband has accepted a job in the Hatfield area (Montgomery County) and we will be moving this spring. We have three elementary age kids. We are looking for a nice, family friendly area with great schools and activities for the kids (soccer, football, gymnastics). We have visited and looked around the Doylestown area (Bucks), Harleysville (Montgomery Co), and Quakertown.
Now we are so confused!!! Does anyone have any recommendations on these areas? How do Souderton Schools compare to Quakertown schools? Please offer some advice!

souderton is a great area as is doylestown and harleysville, quakertown is nice but in my opinion a bit out there. you will be happy in any of those places!!! My personal choice would be doylestown, great community, nice town center, good schools and hospitals, nice neighborhoods.

Hatfield Transfer
The one thing about the Philadelphia suburbs that you can count on is that the school systems all rank pretty well in the state. Some are at the very top and most are above average. Some of the best school districts in the area have the largest class sizes. You should consider what you are specifically looking for in a school system and begin your search on those grounds

First of all, welcome to the area! I don't think you're going to find much of a difference between the school districts of Quakertown and Souderton. As it was mentioned, school districts in the Philly suburbs are among the best in the state -- and ranking them against each other really doesn't give them justice. In terms of school activities for your children and a nice community atmosphere, I think ANY of those places would suit your needs. After school sports and things of that nature are very popular here. If proximity to different urban areas is a factor, Quakertown is attractive because of it's convenient location between Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley. Good luck!
