I got a speeding ticket in what I think is Chester county, near West Chester on 202 going 76 in a 55. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in over 3 years. It was issued by a state trooper. Should I just plead guilty or try to fight it (or get it reduced in court)? do I have a chance of getting it reduced if I show up in court or is it not even worth the battle?

the ticket is $161. It'll be like 4 points on my license if it remains 21 over. If I can get it reduced to 15 or less over, it'll be only 2 points. I don't think I have any points on my license right now.

If you honestly feel that you can get it reduced to only 2 points then try it. It could mean a savings of hundreds on your insurance premium. I doubt, though, that the fine will be any less. Good luck

ALWAYS fight it, esp with those kind of points. I got busted going 83 in a 55 on Rt 30 in Downingtown - I met the trooper outside of court, told him the truth, that I wanted a point reduction and he changed the charge, removed the points and even lowered the fine! I think he was having a bad day when he ticketed me and the hearing was right before Christmas - Merry Christmas to me!
