Hi MMR,

As mentioned, you'd have a really easy commute into Center City from the burbs along the PATCO train line (South Jersey).

Collingswood, Westmont, and Haddonfield are all great towns, but most of the houses (except maybe twins) will be over $225K.

I live in Audubon, which is 5 minutes from the Westmont and Haddonfield PATCO stations. It's about 15 minutes from Center City by train or car. The town has quiet, tree-lined streets, a decent school district, and plenty of 3br houses under $225K.

Delaware County might be an option: Norwood, Glenolden, Prospect Park. These are safe boroughs with affordable housing. The neighborhoods are very pleasant, shopping is easy.Interboro school district is decent, although not as good as it once was, nonetheless, it is a safe school.

You could easily commute from this area, as it has easy access to I-95, and it also has Septa's R2.

I live in this area, and although I don't have kids, I am always impressed how polite the children and teens are, and I live close to the high school.

Trash pick up and snow plowing are done efficiently. I would definitely recommend the area.
