First time filign philly taxes. I came here in mid 2008.
It seems here I have to pay state+municipality tax ? Do I file them seperately ? What forms do I need ? I am only paying income taxes+short term gains, nothing else, no deductions etc.

Unless you own a business based in Philly, you shouldn't have to pay any more than the city wage tax that would already come out of your paycheck.

As for which state tax form to use, you can find information about that here:

Even though you have wage tax removed from your salary, and have it noted on your w-2, must you file an information form with the City of Philadelphia?

No separate information form.

However, you do have to pay the school tax (Form S-1). This is essentialy the wage tax rate on interest and dividends and one or 2 other types of income.

I don't think this applies to interest from a CD or a bank. I have never payed it. There is nothing to file with the city. Just the state and federal.

Correct. Here's a link to the Department of Revenue's website. Bank interest income is not taxable.
