Greetings from Germany everyone.

Okay, o here is the scoop. I've always wanted to go to Philly and all. We are going there on the 5th of May (My sister bought her first homes with her bf).
What are the best restaurants in Philly for:

Italian
Philly steak
Thai
Malaysian
BBQ
Spanish
Brazilian
German
Seafood

Thanks in advance.

Filling in the blanks of JHG's reply:

Malaysian, Aqua Aqua - Philly Restaurant - MenuPages Malaysian, Thai, Asian Restaurant Search

BBQ, there are no really good barbeque places in Philly. The best is Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse, but it's far outside Center City. Home Page

German, none in Center City. You'll have to wait until you get back home for that.

As for cheesesteak, you'll get plenty of debate on that question.

There are hundreds of great Italian restaurants in the city, depending on what style you're looking for. The very best is thought to be Vetri, but it is very expensive. Mark vetri's other restaurant Osteria is also excellent and slightyly less expensive. I like Ernesto's 1521 Ernesto's 1521 Cafe
Branzino Branzino Italian Ristorante, Italian Restaurants Philadelphia, Italian Restaurants Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square
Bistro Romano Philadelphia Restaurants: Best Italian Restaurant Bistro Romano
and lots more.

Cheesesteaks are easy to find, but it is likely you would miss the best ones unless someone told you about them.

Pat's & Geno's are the biggest tourist-traps (9th & Passyunk). You can always go to check them out, but the lines will be huge and their steaks aren't among the best; they are decent enough.

IMHO, you're best bets are places that are kind of out of the way.
John's Roast Pork - http://www.johnsroastpork.com/
Steve's Prince of Steaks - http://www.stevesprinceofsteaks.com
Campo's on Market near 2nd St. is another spot that I like. They won't offer the biggest steak, but good quality and location. The Franklin Fountain is pretty much next door, too, and that's a nifty place to visit for ice cream or shakes.
There is also Jim's at South and 4th, Rick's has moved to the Bellevue at Broad and Walnut (not yet open, but should be soon), and Tony Luke's down on Oregon (near the Stadium complex).

YES!!! They're awesome.

Banana Leaf for malaysian. The staff there is more friendly than penang's. My gf's malaysian.

Not on your list, but special mention for Bindi (indian fusion), in center city. Wonderful Mango Sharbat, Mahi Mahi and the best creme brulee i've ever had.
