Hi ! I'm moving in Philadelphia this May .
I'll be working in NYC .

Is it difficult to find a parking spot near 30th Street Station in order to commute every day ?

Is there a waiting list ?
What would be the average monthly fee ?
Is there a monthly / yearly pass to reserve a parking spot ?

All tips or pieces of advice would greatly appreciated !
Thanks for your contributions !

Don't park in the lot connected to the station - they charge like $25/day. Is there some way you could take a commuter rail or bus to the station? Would save you a lot of money.

I agree with JerzBoy. 30th street Sta. is served by all the regional commuter rail lines as well as the subway and of course busses. Monthly parking in the area will be about $225.

This website shows garages in the area with rates. The intersection for 30th Street station is 30th and Chestnut. Philadelphia Parking Garage Rates - Compare Daily/Monthly Prices Lots

Isn't the $5 parking for "off peak" hours? After 5PM and weekend?

How does parking at 15th & Vine help the OP, who is obviously taking Amtrak from 30th Street Station to NYC?

You've already received good advice about parking. Let me divert the discussion a bit and ask if the two-city arrangement is absolutely necessary. If it's because of family, or your spouse/partner will be very close to their place of work and you decided against a mid-point location, that's fine. But consider the extraordinary cost (gas, parking, train, possible NYC transit) and, more important, how much this commute will wear you down. You're talking at least 2 hours door-to-door each way. That's like a half-time job, time-wise, with no compensation. Plus (and I'm not sure of this), I think Philly and NYC don't have wage tax reciprocity.
Like I said, if the scenario you propose is family or spouse-related, you have to live with it. But if you were looking at Philly as a lower-cost version of New York, there have got to be alternative locations. And yes, I know lots of people do this commute, but I'd bet good $ that after doing it for a while ("while" being subjective), they'd admit it's a grind.
