I have an older friend who is still working but works so little because the job says business is slow that some people are telling him that he can collect unemployment.

Can a part time employee collect unemployment or do you haft to be laid off to be able to collect it?

Apparently, a person whose hours are reduced from full-time to part-time can receive unemployment. (Who knew?) I currently have a friend who's in that situation right now.

Ok well my friend was hired as a part time but they only work a few days out of the Month! So, anyhow I found a gov website so I'm just going to give them a call... This person is older and has a hard time figuring out this kind of stuff so I'm just lending a helping hand...

Thanks LibraGirl123

No problem. Remember that as soon as his/her hours are reduced they must file right away! (From full-time to part/time or 3/4 time.)

cheers
