Just out of curiosity, by your screen name I am assuming you now live in Lower Bucks. Why Philly, what are you looking for?

Hopefully Mayfair won't go the way of neighborhoods in the Northeast like Oxford Circle and Wissinoming.

I have no idea what Wissinoming is like now as I moved out 10 years ago. However, when I got out the decline was beginning. The final 2 years were not good. I had people living next to me who were up all hours of the night; across the street was a halfway house for recovering drug addicts. The windows in the back of my house were broken several times. That's when I knew it was time to go.

Again I say that I hope that Mayfair does not suffer the same fate.

Parts of it already are. Have a relative that lives not far from Rhawn and Frankford and tells me of prostitution going on late at night. I know down by Frankford and Levik is pretty rough.

I was up past 3 AM last night. I suppose it is time for all my neighbors to pack up and move.

Generally speaking Mayfair is still ok. The problem with the lower northeast was that during the real estate boom, there was a lot of investors buying up and renting them out. Advertised with cheap rents and eventually lower class individuals made they're way in. And more and more people wanted out instead of having to deal with them. So that vicious cycle went full tilt. I ought to know. I did just that when I lived in Oxford Circle. Now THAT area is in the crapper. But Mayfair is ok in my opinion. When looking to buy or rent I would recommend checking out the area first to see firsthand. But then again, you can say that just about any nieghborhood ( OK, I doubt Chestnut Hill has got a lot of thugs on the corner but ya know what I mean).

Wissinoming, Lawncrest and Oxford Circle are facing problems NOW.

Frankford and Levick is NOT "rough." There's been a few armed robberies in the area in the past year, but it's not too bad.

There's been hookers on Frankford Ave going north up to Pennypack Park for at least 25 years.

Wissinoming is no better now ... don't you live in Camden?

Could you please tell me a little more about this specific street? Thank you!
Devereaux and what?
