I'm new to this area.
I've scoured through my insurance providers for the past month for a psychiatrist. Most are either not in my plan any longer, are not taking new patients, or I must wait 3 months to get an appointment, which I can't wait for.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a great psychiatrist around Jenkintown, Chestnut Hill, Abington, even Doylestown if I need to travel that far, etc.? Not Center City--I'd like to stay in the suburbs.

I'm looking for someone who is willing to listen and to discuss with me my current medications and what might work best for my depression and severe anxiety. I'm looking for someone who doesn't think "my way or the highway." I've dealt with people like that before and have ended up in the hospital, so I am very wary and would like to find someone with compassion and isn't hurried to get me in and out of the office.

I would be very thankful for any recommendations, insurance doesn't matter at this point. Please post or send to me by private message. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just PM'd you info on two great doctors I've worked with professionally.
One in Doylestown, one in Bensalem. I would trust them both with my own care or a family member's.
