So, has anyone noticed that the area has gotten a soccer team in Nearby Chester?

Philadelphia Union (http://philadelphiaunion.com/Default.aspx - broken link)

Not a soccer fan, but I thought they at least picked a cool name. Also hopefully it will spur more development in Chester.

the stadium is being built on PA 291 immediately south of the Comm. Barry bridge - I'd imagine that they'd need some heavy duty security in the area for both the people and the cars...it's a little rough down there

sounds cool but I don't know if they can get 18k to sit in the stadium for 15 games (plus a women's team as well) - the people that convinced someone to get a MLSteam said that they got commitment for 2800 season ticket holders...let's see how many come up with the scratch

They had over 6000 deposits before the name announcement last week. That area where it is being built is not far from the Harrah's casino and plenty of people go there. This area isn't real dangerous, in fact there's not much around there.

not far but I wouldn't want to walk it

Just off 291 are some rough neighborhoods in that area heading away from the river - 291 may not be as busy as it once was (the re-constuction of the road seemed to have chased everyone away) but the element is still lurking a block or two in
