Don't go to PA Hospital at 8th and Spruce - the nurses are lazier than lazy. I ended up taking care of my baby and wife - changing bassinet sheets, repeatedly asking for meds, tracking down a custodian to mop the blood off the bathroom floor that had been there for a day and a half...I could go on...anyway, in my book they suck with a capital "S".

Hospital of U. Penn (HUP) by Penn is well regarded, I would thing Paoli would be very good, I've also read good things about Lankenau and Bryn Mawr as well. Just make sure whichever one you choose has a NICU.

In the city, I've heard good things about Abington and Holy Redeemer too.

Just thought I would update this thread, we did in fact choose Abington.
VERY nice facility, thanks to those that led us in that direction. Great advice.

Definitely Abington - 3 generations of my family have all been born at Abington. I had my two kids there. Wonderful hospital, great docs and nurses.
