I just moved to Whitpain/Blue Bell area and I need to get a good idea of the best hospital for childbirth. Any ideas? I've read some good stuff about Abington Hospital, and it seems to be only 7 miles away.

Any suggestions, comments, etc on any area hospitals for childbirth?

Abington really caters to this need and delivers hundreds of babies a month.

I agree; still one of the best in the area. Congratulations!

Congratulations from me as well

We are also expecting. Saw the news stories about what a mess the hospitals were in the Philly area for childbirth when we were visiting here...I was kind of shocked o_o
We were thinking of returning to Charlotte to her old doctor, to be induced.
It would be really nice to have a hospital in the area for a backup though lol
I think we have found one near here, heard good things and testimonials about it.

Holy Redeemer, which is only a few minutes from Abington is great for delivery as well. I had my 2nd son there and I loved it. Much better than Frankford-Torresdale where I had the first (luckily, they don't do maternity anymore.)

Holy Redeemer is one of the cleanest, brightest hospitals I've ever been in. Our friend had her three daughters there and they loved it. Good suggestion!

Abington is a wonderful hospital for maternity, and I'm not just saying that because I used to work there (not in that department, though). It's just a well-run place, and babies are their specialty. They are one of the busiest (if not THE busiest) in the five-county area.
